Our 5 Favorite Upstate spots for a Fall Foliage Getaway

Check out some of our favorite upstate spots from our recent trip to The Lorca!

Oct 23, 2019

We recently took a trip upstate to Shandaken, NY for a retreat at The Lorca to celebrate our new #comfortincolor campaign. The fall colors are a huge inspiration and provided some color therapy to our weekend.

We wanted to show you some of our favorite upstate spots that we think you’ll enjoy this fall.

1. Phoenicia Diner

If you have not experienced the smorgasbord of food at Phoenicia Diner, it is a must for this fall. Tucked in the trees off the main road, you will find a big white sign that reads, ‘Diner’ that will make you feel like you were transported to a simpler time. We indulged in the pancakes, eggs, bacon and grits, and of course their house coffee. We recommend sitting at the bar stools for the full diner experience. It’s always a packed house, so embrace the wait and enjoy the food because, trust us, it’s worth it!

2. Tremper Hill Farms

Stop by this adorable market to pick up a pumpkin and locally made foods. They sell local peaches, freshly made pies and amazing apple cider. This is the spot to go for snacks and treats that will get you in the fall spirit.

3. Steve Heller's Fabulous Furniture

For a quirky, off the road stop, make sure to visit Fabulous Furniture. They have steel sculptures of UFO’s, aliens, and old classic cars. It is a sight to see and a great spot to take some pictures and enjoy the art.

4. The Lorca

A very cool and modern spot to stay if you want to keep that cool, design-y city feel to your upstate experience. A newly refurbished property with natural wood and modern furniture pieces, it’s a great spot to enjoy with friends or for a quiet getaway for two!

5. Deer Mountain Inn

A beautiful dinner spot! This beautiful property has many outdoor seating areas to enjoy the beautiful lookout points just a few minutes hike up the mountain. The main lodge is huge and gorgeous. Make sure to go all the way upstairs to hang in their lounge that will make you feel right at home!
