Frequently Asked Questions

Choose Down if you want the lightest, most breathable option that lasts 10+ years. Choose Down Alternative if you have allergies, prefer easy machine washing, or want a lower price point. Our premium microgel alternative is designed to mimic the feel of Down closely, and most sleepers cannot tell the difference.

We offer three weights: Lightweight: Best for warm sleepers or climates, or rooms above 70°F, All-Season: The right choice for most people, year-round, Ultra-Warm: For cold sleepers or rooms below 64°F. When in doubt, All-Season is the safest pick.

Down alternative comforters are machine washable at home. Down comforters, even if labeled machine washable, are best washed in a large commercial machine - wet down is heavy and can strain standard washers. Either way, dry on low heat with dryer balls to restore fluffiness.

If you are fitting a duvet cover you already own, match the size exactly. If you want that full, draped hotel look, size up - a King comforter on a Queen bed gives you extra coverage on the sides.

Down alternative is inherently hypoallergenic. Our down is also rigorously cleaned and DOWNMARK Certified to remove dust and allergens, making it suitable for most people with mild sensitivities. If you have a known waterfowl allergy, stick with down alternative.

Not with our One Fluff and Done comforters - no cover required. For our other comforters, a duvet cover is recommended to protect against oils and dirt and extend the time between washes. Look for corner and side loops on the insert to keep everything in place inside the cover.

Not with baffle box construction. The internal fabric walls keep fill evenly distributed. Avoid sewn-through or channel-stitch designs if bunching is a concern as fill can migrate to the edges over time with those styles.
